Harold Kelley Plaza getting a Facelift  

The little concrete park behind the Hollywood Burger Bar has been torn up and is getting a new design. Grand opening in June.

Rock & Roll Cafe opening soon  

Mark Lindsay's Rock & Roll Cafe will be opening in the Hollywood soon.

Resurrecting Yaw's in the Hollywood after a 25 year hiatus. The restaurant will feature most of the original Yaw's menu. It will have a rock & roll theme and will have a live radio station! It is a joint venture between Mark Lindsay (of Paul Revere & the Raiders fame), Gerry Frank (Meier & Frank heir), and Steve Yaw (proprietor and namesake of the original Yaw's).

Located on Sandy Blvd. between 41st & 42nd.

Hollywood in the News  

The Seattle Times had a multi-page article showcasing the Hollywood District recently. Written by staff reporter Tyrone Beason, it is titled, “Portland’s historic Hollywood District is starring in its own revival” (March 22, 2007). The article is on the web (see the article).

Sandy Streetscape Resurfacing Project  

Major work continues in the Hollywood through April and into summer. After ramps & sidewalks are in place, grinding and paving of the street will commence. Tree planting is scheduled from end of April through May.

Meeting Signs in the Works  

The Hollywood Neighborhood Association (HNA) has received $500.00 from the Central Northeast Neighborhoods’ Neighborhood Association Project Funds to purchase signs that will identify the time and location of associations public meetings. Our goal is to increase attendance and get more of our local residents involved in the decision making process here in Hollywood.
