HNA BOARD MEETING MINUTES
HOLLYWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
GENERAL MEETING
January 28, 2010 – 7pm
HOLLYWOOD SENIOR CENTER
ATTENDANCE: See attached sign-in sheet
1. Meeting was called to order by President Craig Stockbridge at 7:03 pm .
All in the room introduced themselves.
2. Minutes of October 29, 2009 meeting were read by Secretary Bob Ueland.
Motion to approve - Jo Shaefer 2nd – Aaron Jones. PASSED UNANIMOUSLY
3. OLD BUSINESS
PROVIDENCE HOSPITAL UPDATE - Steve Fletcher reports that Hollywood
Park Bldg. #2 should be finished by June 2010 with move-in late summer and fall.
1,000 staff and 800 parking spaces. Construction workers should be decreased
by April 2010. Most work will be inside building.
Steve Fletcher reports that Providence is considering a new lab building to the
South of Hwd.Prk. Bldg.#2, but not decision on that. They will keep us inform-
ed.
Residents of Rose City Park expressed concerns about the Providence Office
Campus plan and the Sullivan’s Gulch Trail piece behind Hwd. Pk. Bldg.#2.
Mr. Fletcher expressed the continuing desire of Sisters of Providence to co-
Operate on Sullivan’s Gulch Trail. He also said Providence would have no
problem signing “good-neighbor” agreements with Rose City Park and Holly-
wood Neighborhood Associations that would contain a request for yearly
report and update on Providence plans for our neighborhoods.
LIQUOR LICENSE AT FAT JACK’S - There will be OLCC license hearing
in February open to public.
HOLLYWOOD WHOLE FOODS – Opened January 10, 2010 for business. No
word yet on number of apartments sold. Many at meeting have already shopped
there and report good selection and service. Welcome to Hollywood ! They
held fundraiser for Hollywood Theater on January 9, 2010 which raised $8,000.00
4. DISTRICT POLICE OFFICER’S REPORT – Office Ryan Bren of North Pre-
cinct reported we are experiencing mostly car prowls and residential burg-
laries. Call North Precinct 503-823-5700 to report incidents.

5. COMMITTEE REPORTS
Finance – Jo Shaefer reports continuing to pursue grant request.
Treasurer - Bruce Richmond has prepared budget for coming year which ExComm approved.
Sustainability – Elizabeth Winnen prepared Power Point regarding our
need for greenspace and/or urban park. She presented this to Commison-
er Nick Fish and staff. She was assisted by representatives of Holly-
wood Boosters and Hollywood Neighborhood Assn. representatives.
We look forward to working with Parks Bureau on this issue.
Publicity - Aaron Jones continues to improve our website and provide the
Newsletter by e-mail and hard copy for January and April 2010. Then
we will go 100% by e-mail and have it on our website.
Land Use – Doug Hamilton has been attending Land Use meetings and
keeping us informed by e-mail.
Transportation – Amber Kerns Johnson has new report on how Hollywood
Neighborhood is responding to an aging society. Bill Barber and Eric
Wylie report that a new bicycle plan to take us to 2030 is going to City
Council next week
6. NEW BUSINESS
1. Lynn Conan reports that Sullivan’s Gulch Trail study is still
ongoing.
2. Portland Parks representatives Sue Glenn and Margaret Evans
report a bond measure is coming and ask for our support.

3. Greg Mistell of ECOTECH suggests property owners check
for radon.
