GENERAL MEETING

OCTOBER 29, 2009

1. Meeting called to order by President Craig Stockbridge at 7:06 pm .

All present introduced themselves.

2. Minutes of July 23, 2009 General Meeting read by

Jo Shaefer. Motion to Approve – Bob Ueland 2nd – Ian Timm

PASSED UNANIMOUSLY

3. Minutes of April 23, 2009 General Meeting read by Bob Ueland.

4. OLD BUSINESS

Ellen Beer of Hollywood Theater reported “Winer Take All” event was a success

and thanked HNA for its support and help. They had between 1,000 – 1,200 partic-

ipate and raised about $1,000.00. Will do it again next year but start preparing

earlier. There will be silent movie “DRACULA” with live organ accompanist

at theater this Saturday.

HOLLYWOOD BOOSTERS will partner with us on Urban Park and Gateway

Projects as reported by Booster President Jan Tolman.

5. GUEST SPEAKERS

TOM CORBIN , MANAGER – HOLLYWOOD WHOLE FOODS

January 12, 2010 will be opening day. They will have 133 employees and

211 parking spaces. They will not enter into a Good Neighbor agreement

with Hollywood Neighborhood Association. Their contact person will

be Tom Corbin 503-593-2847 as issues arise we want to talk to them

about.

BUENA PARK – U.S. CENSUS BUREAU

Questionnaires for 2010 census will be mailed March 15, 2010 . They

presently have job openings.

MARY TOMPKINS – CRIME PREVENTION COORDINATOR

Mary is our new Coordinator and looks forward to working with us.

Low crime rates except along NE Sandy Blvd. and around the

Transit Center. There has been an increase in gang activity (Hoopers

And Rolling 6’s) at MacDonald’s Restaurant. Tagging has increased

In Beaumont area. Perps are getting free labels from Post Office and

using them to deface property. (Post Office refuses to put labels behind

counter) Incident in Trader Joe’s parking lot of shoppers finding man

armed with knife in back seat of car after purchasing groceries. They

were released unharmed after giving up wallet. No arrest yet. Call

Detective Deland if have questions or information.

7. COMMITTEE REPORTS

TRANSPORATION COMMITTEE – Doug Hamilton

There will be “Land Use” workshop for Portland Plan November 17th..

PUBLICITY – Aaron Jones

A blog component has been added to website. Postcards were sent advising

Neighbors that we need their e-mail address and/or they can read NEWSLETTER

on website. We will still print 500 copies and place them in for public at

Hollywood East, Hollywood Town House, 42nd Street Station and Hollywood

library. PROLIFIQ software is giving us free use of their product.

TRANSPORTATION – Amber Kerns Johnson was named to this position by

President Craig upon acceptance of Marah Danielson’s resignation due to her

moving.

SUSTAINABILITY – Elisabeth Winnen

Ill and not here but sends word there will be a meeting with Commissioner Nick Fish.

8. President Craig reports application for liquor license by FAT JACK’S for

location at old PONCHO’S. Not in our neighborhood boundary . After discussion.

MOTION – Ian Timm 2nd Bruce Richmond HOLLYWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD

ASSOCIATION DOES NOT SUPPORT ISSUANCE OF LICENSE.

Passed unanimously - 15-0

9. The BEVERLY CONDOMINUMS are now having OPEN HOUSE

Sundays and Wednesdays 12-5 pm .

10. CENTRAL NORTHEAST NEIGHBORS – Alison Stoll, Director

Halloween Party open to all children at Helensview High School on

October 30th and another at Rose City Park Nazarene Church on

October 31st/

11. Norm Stoll feels City Council members made up their minds on NE 39th

renaming before public hearings based on when new stationery etc. was

ordered.

12. MOTION TO ADJOURN Norm Stoll 2nd Ian Timm.
