HNA BOARD MEETING MINUTES
HOLLYWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
BOARD MEETING
JANUARY 13, 2010
HOLLYWOOD SENIOR CENTER
PRESENT: SEE SIGN-IN SHEET
1. President Craig called meeting to order at7:00 pm .
2. Motion to approve minutes of October 29, 2009 by Ian Timm 2nd-Jo Shaeffer
PASSED UNANIMOUSLY
3. HNA Board will meet in 2010 on April 1st- July 8th - October 7th at Hollywood
Senior Center at 7 pm.
4.HOLLYWOOD PARK AND GATEWAY UPDATES
President Craig announced he and Board members will meet with Commissioner Fish
January 25th at HollywoodTheatre to discuss funding for a greenspace, urban park,
community garden, etc. Debbie Bischoff and Hollywood Boosters representatives
will also attend. We are partnered with Hollywood Boosters in these endeavors.
City wants to issue bonds for financial study of the issue and asks that we send letter
of support. Board agrees that we should. Craig will write letter.
Whole Foods has offered help with Community Garden . Craig will meet with
Susanne Bryce re: Farmers’ Market. Elizabeth Winnen is preparing power-point
presentation for Commissioner Fish and shared it with us.
5. KEY BANK UPDATE
Patrick Flanagan will not be with us tonite. All is on track.
6. COMMITTEE REPORTS
A. PUBLICITY- Aaron Jones agrees with Bruce Richmond that we need to
send out fully distributed newsletters in April and June as we transition to our
E-newsletter. Alison is trying to find interns to help. We still need a web-
master and Amber will check with Senior Center Computer Instructor if he would
be interested.
B. FINANCE - Jo Shaefer is pursuing advertising sales for newsletter. Jo
motioned 2nd-Amber Johnson that we join Hollywood Boosters for $100..PASSED UNANIMOUSLY
MOTION TO ACCEPT TREASURERS BUDGET by Bob Ueland 2nd;-Ian
Timm PASSED UNANIMOUSLY
C. TRANSPORTATION – Doug Hamilton received call from representative
of Sullivan’s Gulch Trail Assn. They will come to our meeting to update us. Ian Timm is continuing his efforts to get storage for Emergency Response Team.
NEW BUSINESS - Craig mentioned again our partnering with Hollywood Boosters.
Fund Raising – Cully Neighborhood’s coupon book was mentioned as
a model for fund raising.
Craig suggested T-shirt sales and he will head committee to investigate.
GENERAL MEETING PROGRAM
1. Information on radon in homes.
2. Portland Parks representative
3. Jo will bring survey form.
4. Elizabeth will contact “ Growing Gardens ”
5. Amber will contact Eric Wiley to speak of “Bike Plan”
